4-wheel drive vehicle can be fitted with a GEAR VENDORS UNDER/OVERDRIVE™. Some kits we
make are not listed in this web site because the descriptions were too lengthy. For applications
we don't list, note the following.
If the transmission in your 2-wheel drive vehicle was ever available in a 4X4 application you
can either exchange it for the 4X4 model or change out the output shaft and tail housing. This is
because GEAR VENDORS ZF product attaches using the bolt pattern intended for all common
transfer cases. If the factory did not offer your trans for 4x4 applications, Advance Adapter
(Paso Robles, California) may make one as they are a specialty 4x4 adaptation company.
The engineering behind our remote mount is intended for just this purpose. We have found remotes in
virtually everything from boats to old Indy racers in the Great American Race. The bracketry that
comes with the remote puts the overdrive in an adjustable case that can be mounted from above or
below the unit. The solenoid that controls the overdrive will work with both 6 and 12 volt systems.
Older enclosed driveline (torque tube) cars also have options with a couple different tube mount
kits we make specifically for the vintage car market.
Multi units offer the versatility of double overdrive.
